Vintage Hubert the Lion ceramic piggy bank made in Japan by Lefton. Wire glasses and rubber stopper.
This piggy bank was a promotional item created for Harris Bank of Chicago, Illinois in the 1960s and 1970s. The founder of Harris Bank allegedly sailed to America on a ship named "The Lion" hence Hubert becoming the bank's mascot. Hubert's image was created by Leo Burnett Advertising in 1958.
