Vintage Govancroft Pottery "Hamilton" stoneware bowls in mustard with matte glaze. Designed by D. Tarquin Cole and John Minshaw in 1966. Made for and imported by Lauffer Co. This set includes 3 bowls.

Coordinating Govancroft Hamilton objects can be found archived in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, UK.

Govancroft Pottery was founded in Glasgow, Scotland by James Buchanan in 1911 and specialized in utilitarian stoneware until 1946. Starting in the 1950’s they introduced matte glazed stoneware dinnerware and coffee and tea sets. The pottery closed in 1976.

Founded in 1950, H. E. Lauffer Co., was an importer and wholesaler of chinaware, stainless steel flatware, stoneware and glass. The company was sold in 1978.
