Antique Societe Ceramique Earthenware Cake Platter with Stick Spatter Floral Design
Antique Societe Ceramique (Maestricht, Holland) large earthenware cake plate / platter with stick spatter floral design. Stick spatterware is when artisans use a stick with a cut sponge on the end to decorate and stampe the designs unto the piece. Marked on underside. The center mark was used from 1863 - 1955, and due to its lacking the 'made in' we estimate this piece to be pre-1921.
The Societe Ceramique Maestricht was established at Maestricht in the Netherlands by Guilaume Lambert & Cie in 1859, and in 1958 merged with NV de Sphinx. The new company was called Sphinx Ceramique.

Cancellations
